Tricia Stubberfield
Artist, printmaker and performer
based on the Rame Peninsula, Cornwall
The Good Egg studio is based in a Napoleonic barracks building at Maker Heights, neighboured by skylarks, artists, forest, musicians, fungi, swifts and martins and sea. It is my place to hide, to sing loudly and make.
My artwork explores place, especially coastal Cornwall, through its substance and texture. I go out and carve, rub, saw, forage, press, scratch, grind, collect and sketch to gather traces and materials. These are then rearranged, either in situ or back at the Good Egg, through improvised processes which also speak to the environment from which they are put together.
I'm an early career artist. I tried other careers but I'm not cut out for doing just one thing. I am currently studying on the MA programme at
Arts University Plymouth. I also design, perform, write and run.
